Yusuf Akcayoglu is MİSA’s founder, CEO and Chairman. He oversees MİSA’s operations, implements short-and long-term strategic plans, and grows MİSA’s businesses in current and new markets. He also acts as the main point-of-contact between MİSA’s Board of Directors and the Company’s operations.
Mr. Akcayoglu has extensive expertise in managerial skills and delivery of mega/iconic projects from scratch. Over the course of his 28 years of professional experience, he has delivered complex and high-profile building projects for clients around the world, including mega airports and iconic commercial and high-rise developments located in Turkey, the Middle East, Europe and Russia.
Akcayoglu's most noteworthy mega project is the İstanbul Airport Development - the largest infrastructure project in modern Turkish history. The project is spread76 Mio sqm land. Akcayoglu took the project from scratch as CEO and created an entire project organization where global manpower reached 41000 people at its peak, 4500 of the staff being white-collared employees.
The highest profiled project in modern Turkish history and a game changer in global aviation, the Istanbul Airport project gained ample attention in Turkey, as well as in the İnt’l arena. Dealing with five shareholders and over 60 stakeholders closely proved to be a big challenge, especially in the decision making process
In spite of these challenges, creating and managing the project's core team, finalizing the master plan, handling the project's finances, executing the design, engineering, procurement, and construction simultaneously proved to be absolute successes for Yusuf Akcayoglu and his team.
Akcayoglu delivered the project to substantial completion from scratch and handed it over to the Operations Team within only 41 months of his tenure. In a traditional method of project management, preparing such a project for operation taken at least a decade.
This extraordinary success as CEO has cemented Akcayoglu and his core team’s names in both Turkish and global construction history.
